The 6 nations rugby competition often called “The RBS 6 Nations“, referring to the sponsor (Royal bank of Scotland) is one of the main events on the sports calendar.
This coming years competition is set up to be one of the best, with countries like Ireland and Wales wanting desperately to erase a bad World Cup campaign and England wanting to keep the momentum going for their World Cup; it is a mouth watering prospect!
The nations involved are England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Italy and France. This competition was founded in 1883 initially the teams in this competition was England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. France didn’t join until 1910. The current champions of the 6 nations is France having won in back to back titles in 2006 and 2007.
Venues for the games are based on a rotation system for instance, if Ireland played England in Dublin last year then they will face them this year in London and so on. A full list of the venue’s is:

England have the most 6 nations wins in this tournament with 25 and 10 shared, whilst Italy have won the fewest, understandably seeing as they only entered the competition in 2000!
