The Roma football

 team's full title is Associazione Sportiva Roma.

The team was founded in July 1927 and they play their home games in Dtadio Olicmpico in Rome, which has a capacity of 82,307 people!

This year marks the 24th European Cup/Champions League that they have participated in, and since their introduction have twice appeared in the finals, in 1983 – 1984 and 1990 – 1991, but on both occasions were defeated, by Liverpool and Inter Milan.

The team's kit is Maroon shirt with gold trimming around the collar and selves, this is matched with white shorts and black socks.
Their away kit is largely white, with only a small amount of detail around the colour and selves – white again. The jersey is paired with white shorts and socks. They are currently being coached by Luciano Spalletti and play in the Serie A division inthe Italian football league.


Roma have played Manchester United in last years quarter finals of the Champions league, and although they won the first leg, they were severely out played in Manchester, losing 7-1!

Fate has pitted them against United again this year, they lost the opening match 1-0 but came close to scoring on many occassions, the final group game in Rome on the 12th of the 12th sees them take United again - it could be a very vital that Roma need to get something out of to qualify for the next round.
