Michael Own has had a busy and interesting career for someone so young!
He is currently playing with Newcastle United, he joined this club in 2005.
There was a lot of speculation that he would have preferred to return to Liverpool but he has never confirmed this and his performances with Newcastle would not agree with this theory!
He scored his first goal with the club in his second match!
Since joining Newcastle he has been hindered with numerous injuries, including breaking his Metatarsal bone in his foot, which withdrew him from matches for a lot longer than anticipated, upon his return while playing for England he sustained damage to his anterior cruciate ligament to his right knee, which removed him again from all matches for almost a year.
It was on the 12th February the club showed pictures of him taking part in light training that fans could start to anticipate his come-back, this happened on 10th April where he made an appearance against Gretna in which he scored!
Within his career at Liverpool he was renowned for his goal scoring abilities and team contributions. His signing to Real Madrid was anticipated after the sacking of Gerard Houllier. He was signed by the Spanish side for £8 million on 13th August 2004.
With his current return to fitness, and form, Newcastle are rejecting all claims that he will be sold to interested clubs such as Manchester United, Chelsea, or Arsenal!
He has taken part in many competitions through his career, including Champions League, UEFA Cup, Premiership as well as many Spanish competitions!
