Formula one is famous for the big sponsorship deals which are organised for the hugely expensive cars and highly experienced drivers. This is a sport which is popular in many countries throughout the world, with many countries such as Turkey, China and USA.
Formula 1 (F1) or Grand Prix racing is defined by the Fédèration Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), the world governing body, as the highest class of auto racing. "Formula" stands for the set of rules cars and participants must abide by. The World Championship season consists in a series of races usually held on purpose-built circuits, and sometimes on closed city streets. The results assign two championship victories, one to drivers and one to constructors. Major constructors in this sport include Ferrari, Renault and Honda, but many more do exist, some of the best circuits are Monaco, Malaysian and Bahrain, not to mention the UK and Spanish Grand Prix.

Formula one series has roots dating back as far as the 1920 and 1930, however it was not until 1946 with the introduction of the Federation Internationale de l'Automobile when we can start to track a full history, and standardised rules were introduced.

Records are constantly been contested within this very popular sport, and in the first few years following 2000 many records have been broken by many drivers, but mostly Michael Schumacher, to his name he has, 7 drivers championships, more than any other driver, he broke the record for most points scored in one season, he also holds the record for most grand Prix ever won.
Now retired her has 91 Grand Prix victories to his name after driving most of his career with Ferrari.

The British Grand Prix is one of the 17 races that make up the Formula One Grand Prix. With a total of 60 laps to be completed and a circuit of 5.141 km, the total race distance comes to 308.355 km! This year the British Grand Prix was hosted in Silverstone on the 8th of July.

The winner of the British Grand Prix 2007 was Kimi Raeikoenen, part of the Ferrari team, who completed a total of 59 laps in 1:21:43:074. This was an excellent year for Ferrari, who had first places in the Australian and French Grand Prix’s, as well as scoring within the top three in Malaysia and Bahrain.

Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton occupied second and third places respectively, both representing McLaren-Mercedes, completing their 59 laps under 40 seconds after Raeikoenen.
