Celtic Football Club, founded in 1887 by an Irish monk, brother Walfrid from County Sligo, and based in the east end of the city of Glasgow. Brother Walfrid set the club up as a charity to raise money for homeless children, the charity was called “The Poor Children's Dinner Table”.
It is a Scottish football club playing in the Scottish Premier League. The club is nicknamed "the Bhoys" and plays home games at Celtic Park, the second largest club stadium in the United Kingdom.
Celtic won the European Cup in 1967, becoming the first team to win the competition in Britain and Northern Europe, and remain the only Scottish team ever to have reached the final.
In the same season, they won every other competition they entered as well.

Celtic has a local rival in the form of Rangers F.C, and together they form the Old Firm which is one of the most famous and fiercest rivalries in soccer.
Their colours are white shirt with green hoops while their away kit is green and black strips.

The club has been home to some excellent world class footballers throughout the year, including Kenny Dalgish, Jimmy McGrory (who holds most profession career league goals scored in British History) Bobby Lennox and Henrik Larsson also have had exciting careers with the club. Martin O'Neill who once played for the club returned in 2000 to manage the club until his departure in 2005, after he has received a number of titles with the club.
